Travel by Air

San Diego is serviced by San Diego International Airport, located just 3 miles from the San Diego Convention Center and Downtown San Diego. Most major airlines provide direct or connecting service to the city. See all available airlines.

Travel by Car

Taxi: The average taxi ride costs $11-22. Taxicabs can be found by following the signs throughout the airport leading to the Transportation Plazas.  Airport personnel are available to help queue the lines and provide assistance as needed.

Ride Share/Uber: Uber, Lyft and other shared ride services are available at the San Diego International Airport. Travelers can be dropped off curbside at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

Terminal 1: Exit baggage claim via the escalators, walk across the Sky Bridge toward Ground Transportation and the parking lot, exit down the escalators toward the parking lot, and turn right to the Transportation Plaza.  Use crosswalk to the third lane for pick-up area.  See signage for assistance.

Terminal 2: Upon exiting baggage claim, use main crosswalk to Transportation Plaza. Ridesharing pick-up is located in the second lane on the right. See signage for assistance.

The average cost for an UberX (up to four passengers) is $7-10 and for an UberXL (six or seven passengers) is $8-20.

Driving: From the Airport - Upon exiting the parking lot, follow signs to Interstate 5/Downtown. The ramp will put you on Harbor Drive going south. Follow signage to parking entrance.

San Diego Trolley

The Metropolitan Transit System operate the San Diego Trolley, with a stop right outside the San Diego Convention Center. The Trolley connect San Diego's east and south county communities with the Downtown region, and is a fun way to see the city!
